The most effective way to win Rank Choice Voting is to continue spoiling elections. There are plenty of Democrats with much deeper pockets who will donate to VCM so they don’t have to worry about their preferred candidate losing an election because of us. We should only give money away when we can’t think of a better way to spend it ourselves.
Alternatively, I would propose that we budget $500 for the GRP Legislative Working Committee with the guideline that it must be spent working on election reform issues including the newly proposed OCPF regulations, HR1 in Congress, and Rank Choice Voting. This could include covering expenses for GRP members who volunteer with VCM. Then we would also benefit from building relationships with other activists and recognition for doing work. We must also recruit people to carry out the work, but offering resources demonstrates that we are serious about supporting our volunteers.
