Background:

The name, Plinio De Goes, first came to the attention of members of the Greater Boston Chapter (GBC) as the result of a communication from David Spanagel on June 8 informing us that there was someone who wished to run for the City Council of Cambridge as a Green. The GBC response was to invite him to attend a meeting of the Chapter. The meeting occurred on June 9th.

Plinio De Goes expalined his desire to run for City Council, completed his party voter registration, and made clear that he would be joining the Chapter.  He is running for City Council, recognized as one by the OCPF but will not be recognized as one by the Cambridge Elections Commission until the end of July.  He will be running his campaign as a Green-Rainbow Party member.

Proposal:

The State Committee of the Green-Rainbow Party by a consensus achieved at its 2015 Summer Meeting: Sunday July 19 in Brookfield MA, hereby endorses the candidacy of Plinio De Goes fo the the City Council of the City of Cambridge.

Financial Impact:  None

Implementation:  The decision if positive will be placed together with the names and local offices being sought by other GRP members prominently on the GRP Website.  And the endorsement will be made availavle to candidate websites
