Hi,
This distinction is not what the public sees. As far as the world at
large is concerned, Nader's name is on our ballot and, therefore,
Nader is a candidate and is someone they can choose to vote for. In
fact, the Elections Division itself (somewhat overstepping its
responsibilities) sought assurance that Nader knew his name was on our
ballot.
The whole point of the candidates' forum is to help people (the few
who will, in fact, take our ballot) choose from among the candidates
on our ballot. Please step back and consider the party's role in
addressing public perceptions (as opposed to our own internal
politics).
