Hi Merelice

I sent the letter below on August 2. I invite Merelice and others to
submit more workshops if they wish. In making the plans for the
convention, I raised the question whether or not we would have 1 or 2
time slots. The decision was made for one-90 minute workshop.

I strongly believe that we have gone too far in the process to turn
1-90" workshop into 2 workshops. Everyone, including me, is preparing a
90" workshop. While some may feel comfortable in moving from a 90-45
slot, I believe that this will not work for others, including my workshop.

I will be leaving for vacation in about 2 hours and I haven't begun to
pack yet. I will be back late Thursday night. My plan was to spend next
Friday preparing for the convention. I will receive some additional
e-mail messages, integrate this new information into a revised workshop
document and print 100 copies for the convention.

If the decision is made to change the structure of the workshop, would
someone leave a message on my phone machine that somebody has taken over
this project.

Thanks,

PS I have a counter proposal. Would everyone do what they can to attend
the convention and encourage others to also attend? Let's have 100
people at the convention at 11 Am and deal with the problem of overcrowding.

Dear GRP Members:

"On Saturday, August 25 our party will be having its annual convention
at the Community Church of Boston. I am writing to find out if you want
to present a workshop during our one workshop slot during the day.

General information on the Convention: The location is 565 Boylston St.,
Boston (a short walk from the Copley Square T Stop (Green Line) or Back
Bay Station (Orange Line). The convention will begin with registration
at 9 AM and is scheduled to end at 5:30. There will be lunch. At the end
of the convention, there will be dinner (a fundraiser) and from 7:30-10,
we are fortunate that David Rovics, a powerful, engaging topical
folksinger/songwriter for our time, in the tradition of Woody Guthrie
and Phil Ochs, will be presenting a benefit performance for our party.

I hope that you will be spending the day with your fellow members of the
GRP and please spread the word and encourage others to attend.

I am coordinating the workshops, which will take place from 11-12:30. Do
you have a workshop that you want to organize? If yes, please fill out
the following brief questionnaire and send this to me NO LATER THAN
AUGUST 15. (I will be vacationing from August 17-23.)

I will create an information sheet with a list and description of the
workshops. We will ask our members to choose a workshop when they register.

With your assistance in attending and spreading the word, we are hoping
that we will have an excellent turnout for our convention. If you need
any equipment for the workshop, please bring whatever you need. You are
also responsible for bringing any handouts.

Please communicate with me if you have any questions or need any
assistance before August 15 and on August 24. I plan on being at the
convention all day beginning at 8 AM. Please look for me when you arrive
and see me if you have any questions or concerns. As we approach 11 AM,
I will have a better idea on how many of our members have chosen your
workshop.

Thanks,
