[i don't think that I am on the membership, communication or
statecom-discuss so if someone would forward it on to them that would
be good.

Thanks to Melissa, John Saylor, Eli, Dan, and Dan (see how important he was :-)]

In the process of setting up a web accessible supporter database we
have the start of a community site for the party. It is at:

   http://community.green-rainbow.org/

Right now it doesn't do much, but ala the GP of Canada, folks can post
their own blogs and polls if they want. See
http://www.greenparty.ca/en/blog/popular for an idea as to where we
could take this. We could move towards adding buddy lists (ala
facebook, myspace, etc) and some method of submitting
questions/requests for other members to answer. Of course updating
the look and feel would be great too.

I will demonstrate it and the database which runs on it at the convention.

We are just testing things out and what it will be is up to members.
But I wanted to get it out to folks for people to play with.

So what is the status of our web accessible member database? Well we
merged the data from all three sources (supporter db, contributor+ db
and voter list) and had the addresses checked and phone numbers looked
up via a third party service due to a generous in-kind donation. Now
we need to remove the duplicates while retaining the contributor/voter
ids and then merge the data into the database.

Help in removing duplicates is needed. Computers could probably do
most of it, but it would be nice to have people go through it and
clean up the names so that the matches will go better. Then we should
have folks do another review prior to loading it up. Email me if you
want to help. I can give you a chunk of it if you want.

See you Saturday.

peace,

Jamie
