[ComCom] Help fight Foreclosure Crisis: Tuesday (May 13th) Hearing for emergency legislation, StateHouse

Dear friends - We have been fast-tracked for a Hearing in front of the 
Judiciary Committee at the State House this Teusday, May 13th, at 1pm in Room A1.

This is great news but ONLY if we have enough support.   The Mass Alliance 
Against Predatory Lendingi s still hoping for more organizational members (so 
please work on getting your gorup to endorse our efforts if they have not yet).

Tuesday, we need your support!
* Come to the State House, Rm A1 to the hearing 1pm or any time after that - 
the hearing will probably go till 6pm (I hope!)

* Call you legislator - tell them how critical their support for our 3 pieces 
of emergency sub-prime legislation is (a 6 month moratorium on subprime 
foreclosures, a day in court before people lose their mortgage, and rights for 
tenants and occupants in foreclosed buildings!).   You don't need to do more than 
give your ame and ask for their support of our bills!

One critical measure is that 29,607 petitions for foreclosure were filed 
statewide in 2007 (up 45% from the year before) and 41,000 more are projected for 
this year; the number impacted increases significantly once you add tenants in 
these buildings; add all the loss of property values bringing down 
neighborhoods, municipal tax bases, and local economic activity, etc. and !

Please help us make Tuesday, May 13th, the day we began to trun the tide on 
foreclosures in Massachusetts.
