First- I want to preface this that I have not yet worked my way through all
the emails- but I relaly wanted to respond to Samantha's email right away.
Samantha - I was relaly worried when I read this - who criticized the
committees' work? I certainly was not criticizing your work and if that is how it
was experienced - BIG APOLOGIES -
I am very concerned about turn-out- I do not consider that primarily the
responsibility of the convention committee. Did I or someone imply that it was?
I agian do not and never did consider that the Convention committee's
responsibility primarily and have no blame for anyone at this point.
I think (as Gil prefaced his email) that the committee has done a wonderful
job - did someone say otherwise?
Adcom - in our responsibilities for the overall implementation of party
activities, realized at our meeting that turn out was not looking high enough yet
(yes at this date - which is late which is why we were worried). This has
financial and organizatinoal implications. Those are not really the convention
committee's responsibilities. they are the adcom's responsiibility.
We want to implement a plan to increase outreach and turn-out. I called to
get information to be able to inform that plan-
Samantha - the request for information so we can increase turn-out was not in
any way an attack. I don't understand why it came across that way. I
apologize again for any way that it did.
We just know that we are not in a position to raise more extra money right
now - and that we need to build on the very successful March right now and the
upcoming elections - and that is our responsibility - Thanks, Grace
