I have officially guilt-tripped the Freedom to Marry Coaltion with our
press release. This organization (prematurely) endorsed Deval Patrick
and are actively supporting him. I'm trying to butter up the other
major issue group, MassEquality. Hopefully they feel a LITTLE guilty
for endorsing Deval so early on when there's an actual LESBIAN running
for governor now!
Here is the email I sent below:

Subject: Grace Ross nominated by Green-Rainbow Party, first lesbian
to run for govenor!
Dear Freedom to Marry Coalition,
The Green-Rainbow Party of Massachusetts is proud to announce that it
has nominated five candidates for statewide office. A criterion in
offering nomination or endorsement to our candidates was established at
the State Convention level, where all candidates running as a
Green-Rainbow must affirm that they support equal marriage rights for
same-sex couples. No other political party has collectively made this
commitment and declaration to equal marriage rights. The Greens stand
proud by holding this morally distinguished position and supports your
cause wholeheartedly.
Last Saturday the Green-Rainbow Party nominated five candidates for
statewide office, the head of the campaign, longtime low-income
organizer Grace Ross will be the first lesbian to run for governor.
Equal marriage rights will be a major issue of her campaign as we all
believe that the majority has no right to take away rights from the
minority. All of the candidates on our slate support equal marriage
along with the traditional progressive platform alternative that the
Green-Rainbow Party offers. Attached is the official Green-Rainbow
press release covering the convention and the candidates.
Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
Yours in the struggle,
Colby E. Peterson, Communications Director, Green-Rainbow Party
