The Attorney General got it wrong, and this *Thursday, May 4* we have our
chance to prove it.

Last September, the AG approved for signature-gathering a proposed anti-gay,
anti-marriage amendment meant squarely and solely to reverse the decision in
GLAD's case *Goodridge v. Department of Public Health* that ended marriage

*, GLAD argues that our state constitution forbids this citizen- initiated
constitutional amendment that "relates to the reversal of a judicial
decision."

At 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, GLAD Legal Director Gary

argue before the Supreme Judicial Court that Attorney General Thomas
Reilly never should have certified the anti-gay, anti-marriage ballot
question that would reverse *Goodridge* and once again exclude same-sex
couples from marriage in Massachusetts.

GLAD will go toe-to-toe not only with the Attorney General's office, but
also the well-funded national anti-gay group the *Alliance Defense Fund*,
which is representing the proponents of the current petition. The ADF and
other national groups have put their vast resources of the current petition.
