[fundraising] meeting dates & update

Hi,
A meeting this year is not feasible for me. I sincerely hope that it
is not a prerequisite to our sending out the letters being worked on
(especially the thank-you to our sustainers). But if so, that's OK.
Year-end fundraising is much more critical for non-profits than for a
political party which gets good results in January.

If deemed absolutely critical, I can meet Tuesday, January 3. But
since there is also an exploratory committee meeting scheduled that
week, I would much prefer the following week.

While we should try to get as many people as possible to the
meeting,we need to make sure that Brian can be there as well as Wendy
who is becoming Brian's supervisor. And since Jamie has shown the most
initiative and activity as a committee member, it would be great to
schedule a time he could attend. I would also like very much to be
there. After this meeting, I will be available only for occasional
specific tasks and will continue to help transition the supervision of
Brian's activities to Wendy while Wendy gets up to speed. (Brian and I
are working on that.)

Meanwhile, since everyone has reviewed the copy for the insert that
promotes becoming a sustainer, I trust it is OK to include it with
this month's thank-you letters to contributors (assuming Eva hasn't
already sent them out). My understanding is that Dan is correcting the
Word format to produce a pdf that doesn't distort the logo.

Regarding the monthly spreadsheet of activities:
Jamie made some excellent suggestions about supplementing and
improving the current level of activity to renew members. Right now,
we send a postcard to those whose memberships come up for renewal that
month or the next month. As we add volunteer capability, Jamie's
suggestions should be added and implemented. As for fundraising
activity at the Annual Convention (responding to Dan), as I said in my
email notes, I arbitrarily placed that in May. It would actually occur
whenever the convention gets scheduled. Regarding thanking sustainers
on their anniversary dates (responding to Jammie), since they have not
received a formal thank-you in the past, it seemed wise to send one as
soon as possible. Originally we thought during the Thanksgiving
season, but we didn't make it. Then we hoped by the end of this week.
But that is not likely. Eva and Brian have worked on a draft, however,
and you will be asked to approve it shortly. If you want it to wait
until next year, then I'll stop trying to move it along quickly.

Grace, In the interests of following your request to include everyone
and keep everyone coordinated and in the loop, would you be willing to
send this committee a copy of what you have submitted for the
newsletter? Just FYI, not for review. Thanks.
My best, Merelice
