Greetings,
Well no wonder things did not proceed as Brian and I were expecting!
We were not on the same page as Dan regarding the timing of renewal
reminders. Liz sent them out October, November, and December last
year, and I thought she had continued a monthly pattern after she
stopped being our fundraiser but remained as a volunteer for a while.
That was her recommendation in the fundraising plan she drafted. In
any case, glad we are now all on the same monthly track.
Still not sure we are on the same track regarding who will function as
fundraising liaison to AdCom (and vice versa), though I have heard
from both Wendy and now Dan that they are willing to do so. Dan makes
sense as the Fundraising Committee's automatic co-chair (a function of
the Treasurer). Wendy also makes sense as Brian's supervisor since she
will need to keep track of his fundraising activities. Not my call,
and I do suggest that they and AdCom clarify this for themselves (and
for the fundraising committee) so it doesn't fall through the cracks
while each thinks the other is doing it.
By the way, Wendy, I have now put you on this fundraising listserve.
If you haven't had a chance to do so, I suggest you check the December
archives of this list to help you get up to speed. Just go to the
committee lists link on the home page.
Last December, as well as this December, Jamie sent emails with
extensive suggestions for fundraising plans and activities. In my
view, both emails deserve full consideration and should become part of
the Party's fundraising activities as volunteer resources and Brian's
schedule allow. You might still have this year's email available. The
link for last year's is:
