[ComCom] Fwd: [fundraising] GRP Info Brochure

Hi,
To use language that is decidedly NOT street, "street" would be more
visceral than cerebral. :-)

Some comments:

Like Jim Bosman, I'm surprised how quickly time has flown since we
worked on this version. At this point, we need to consider short-term
needs and long-term needs

For the short-term, I suggest:

1) Changing the title of the history panel, maybe to something like
"How the GRP was formed." The purpose of this panel was to explain the
background of each former party (Mass. Greens and Rainbow Coalition)
and how they came together. People are curious about that. I don't
really see the necessity of making this a year-by-year update. In
fact, I would consider dropping the year 2001 (Chuck's REelection) as
an unneeded detail.

2) Making any necessary corrections. David Rolde said something about
the committee email addresses not working?? That's probably because
most of them have been programmed to reject postings from non-members
as a protection from the tons of spam they get. Is there a better (and
dependable) way to reach the Party and get a response from someone?

For the longer term:

1) Consider adding a panel that highlights current and ongoing
activities (and then keep it up-to-date!). The brochure could be
folded so that the other side of the new panel made the brochure a
self-mailer.

2) Ask for volunteers to review the copy approach. I suggest including
some Rainbow Coalition folks (I'm thinking Grace, Gary, Jennifer,
Damon, Lisa, and/or Mel) for input about the current version and
suggestions to make it more "street" if there is agreement that
there's a better way. I would also make a point of including some
20-somethings.

Finally, to the best of my knowledge, the Party never printed these in
great quantity. (Maybe the Membership Committee printed quantities
when they supplied regional locations with Party materials. I don't
know what those locations are and how many exist.) The brochure was
put on the website for local chapters to print as needed. But it
appears under the "newsletters" link, so is not immediately obvious.

And speaking of the website and being up-to-date: Maybe someone would
be willing to replace the "history" website copy with the history
panel from the brochure? The website history is truly truly
out-of-date.
Best, Merelice
