Hi Merelice and all,
I made the changes tha you suggested and put the proposal on the website.
Unfortunately I will not be able to make the Statecom meeting due to an unavoidable conflict that takes me out of state. Frustrating... but there is nothing I can do about it. I can be available by cell phone if needed but I can't really participate.
Therefore a 3rd sponsor will be needed (I think...)
Good Luck with the proposal. I hope it passes since we need to make the commitment to do fundraising and if everyone pitches in it can become a regular and even fun activity that becomes part of the regular machinery of machinery... just like Brians's efforts became doing staffperson-related fundraising.

Hi,
Given that we don't have a fundraising director who functions as
Committee Chair, and that committee meetings don't happen, I suggest
that members of this committee respond by email.
The main thing missing from this proposal (which I have agreed to
co-sponsor) is the preparation of followup materials that make a phone
bank effective, along with the costs that are supposed to be part of a
proposal. Given identity-theft concerns, we are not likely to get many
people giving us credit-card numbers over the phone. So each
phone-bank effort needs immediate mail followup. Even when someone
says they will contribute online, the mailing is a good reminder. This
involves postage for both the mailing and return envelopes and a form
that thanks them for their pledge and requests the usual information.
I would also indicate in the proposal that we start with members who
have not been notified of their need to renew, given that renewal
reminders ceased when Brian stopped last summer. That way, callers
will be less likely to get discouraged by lack of results. This effort
is only as good as the telephone numbers we have, so that issue also
needs to be addressed. How do we distribute the calling data to the
different locations?

In the event that the Fundraising Committee is not able to organize a plan by Feb 15th (not meeting or not enough people resources to plan it) the Adcom is instructed to organize this fundraising activity to occur no later than May 15th. 3-day Party-wide regional fundraising is to mean that the fundraising is to occur on 3 consecutive nights in a given week (Funraising Week) and is to include group fundraising activities in homes or offices that are placed around the state to facilitate easy participation. The fundraising days are to be announced two months in advance so that all members of the party have a good chance to participate.
