[GNC] Not suspending GNC list - I resign as list administrator

Hi Everyone!
I originally asked the tech committee to set-up this list so we could
prepare for the convention, but now I, too, would like to step down from
administrating this list. The types
of posts which have been sent to the list recently have been requiring a
great deal of moderation, because so many are responses to mass-emaisl
from various other lists (which mailman won't let through).
Personally, I can see very little reason to keep this list, particularly
in its current form--it just seems to privelege the former delegates by
restricting news about the presidential campaign to them, and keeps other
GRs out of the loop. Perhaps the core of this list could somehow be
reconstituted into another, more open list for everyone interested in
presidential politics, but personally, I think most of the discussion
going on here is much more relevant to the locals list or other already
existant mailing lists (becuase it is so important to the party, and
should be known by as many folks as possible--the fact that other people
share this position is evident in the fact that so many recent posts to
this list have been sent to numerous other mailing lists, as well).
The only purpose I could possibly see this list continuing to serve is the
coordination of the convetion article for the newsletter, but it seems
like that is already under control.
In short, I don't see any reason for this particular group to continue
discussing these matters, especially because I think many of them warrant
discussion by a larger group of GRs, not just the people who happen to be
on this list.
Anyway, just my two cents, and if people want to keep the list going, it
would be great if someone could step forward to moderate, but I highly
encourage combining this list, rather than creating yet another list
people need to be on to really know what is going on within the party.

I cannot continue to administer the daily requests that come in to this list. **To everyone on the Technology Committee, please cancel my request to have the list ended on Sat., Aug. 7 at 12 PM.** Steve Milder is still an administrator of this list.

If the message came from a GRP member who was not a delegate or alternate, I read the message and approved it if the topic/message was relevant to an ongoing list discussion or the purposes of the list, N.B. none of the emails from GRP members that I have read were not relevant. If the message came from a non GRP member (including Greens from other states), I rejected the message and asked the sender to get the message sponsored by a GRP delegate or alternate if she/he felt it was important enough to get to the group.

At any time, someone can unsubscribe from this list, but it is my guess that everyone has chosen to remain because they are still interested in the issues being discussed on this list.

This information (and any last names that are reported by Aug. 7) should be brought forward at the Administrative Committee meeting on Monday, Aug. 9
