5/27

Scott,

Thanks for arranging our meeting.

I am looking forward to our meeting. I finally made my reservations last
night and this morning for Milwaukee. (arriving early Wednesday afternoon
and leaving very early on Monday-staying at Marquette University)

I'm definitely coming to our Worcester meeting. However, I'll probably have
to leave a little before 1 P.M.--my 13-year old daughter, Danielle, will be
playing in a concert with her orchestra at Symphony Hall at 2 P.M. and I
know that she will be disappointed (angry) if I won't attend.

As of now, I will be driving from Boston alone and will have room for an
additional 4 people from the Boston area. However, on the way back, I will
have to drop people off at a "T" station.

So, if anyone wants a ride, contact me.

Hi everyone,

I've gone ahead and reserved us the Saxe Room of the Worcester Public
Library from 9AM-1PM on Saturday, June 5 (I tried the afternoon but all
rooms were booked). [Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, Worcester,
508-799-1655, http://www.worcpublib.org ] Note that the library opens at
9AM, so please be aware of this if you arrive early and can't get inside.
The room can comfortably hold 100 people and is overall a nice room.

Although the room is reserved from 9AM-1PM, there are two separate meetings
taking place. From 9AM-10:30AM, the time is set aside for delegates to
watch the Jan. 29 Green Presidential debate and/or discuss candidates,
politics, etc. The podium allows for VCR tapes to be projected onto the
screen, the custodian can help set this up. Wanda (or any others who have a
VHS copy) would you be willing and able to show the video?

From 10:30AM-1PM, the time is set aside for delegate education with the
agenda shown below. I am willing to facilitate as a member of the CDLC who
is not going to the Conference and trying my best to remain neutral about
any particular candidates, voting preference, or electoral strategy.

Agenda:
-Chance to meet fellow delegates, decide on any unique identifiers that we
can wear to let other delegates at Convention know that we are from MA?
Tie-die shirts? hats with Green-Rainbow on them? etc.
-What is your responsibility as a delegate?
-What should we do as the Massachusetts delegation to be heard?
-What should we be doing to understand the Green Party platform (and the
upcoming votes about the platform, see http://greens.org/~hhart/ )
-NOTE: this is not a time for analyzing candidates or discussing political
scenarios (please attend the earlier session and there will surely be time
to discuss options in a group or smaller groups after the meeting ends)

I'd like for June 5th to be our "official" delegate meeting. The date and
location were chosen to maximize participation from accross the state (our
delegation is distributed across the state as required by state law).
Please let me know if you will or will not be able to attend.

Unfortunately, the commuter rail line to Worcester does not run on weekends.
People will need to arrange their own transportation. Please post to the
list if you will need a ride or can offer a ride for someone to Worcester
and do ASAP. Thanks, I look forward to seeing all of you on June 5th!
