[Green-Rainbow] COMMITTEE MEMBERS - PLEASE READ AND RESPOND

I am having second thoughts about the platform proposal that we agreed
to at the last meeting.

The basic outline of the proposal is still fine.

HOWEVER, I really hate to throw out the work we did on the summary
platform and editing/refining the message. Throwing out good work
just because it is incomplete just seems wrong to me.

I have just re-read the summmary platform that we submitted in January
and I really see nothing wrong with using it instead of the older
Rainbow
Coalition Party program document that we started with.

So I therefore propose that we just reference the new document as the
one that gets merged into the detail platform. The only real negative
of doing this is that we will have redundancy since many of the bullet
items originate in the Green platform and so are already there.

However, the redundancies will not cause a lot of extra work at the
detailed platform level and keeping the edits we did will save work
when trying to construct a new summary platform. Let's try to make
the work going forward easier rather than harder.

I do not forsee Green-platform bullet items causing the Greens to
reject our proposal. If so, I am sure that we can friendly-amendment
them away since they are not Rainbow Coalition planks anyway.

And this way we also get to keep the cool logos that Richard and
Laura created.

SO WHAT DO YOU ALL SAY IF I JUST USE THE JANUARY SUMMARY PLATFORM
AS THE LIST OF BULLET ITEMS TO ADD TO THE GREEN DETAILED PLATFORM
IN OUR PROPOSAL? DOES ANYONE REALLY OBJECT TO THAT?
