Protest against the "Jerusalem Day Celebration" at the Boston Public
Library (Main Copley Square branch)
Wednesday May 30, 2007. 6 PM

Join Boston Anti-Zionist Action to gather in protest on Boylston St
in front of the Library at 6:15 PM on May 30. Also please call or
write to the Boston Public Library and Boston City Hall (Boston City
Councilors, the Mayor, etc.) to object to this racist event being
hosted at the library and to demand that it be cancelled and not held
again in future years.

The "Jerusalem Day Celebration" at the Boston Public Library is an
annual event sponsored by the "Israeli" consulate, i.e., by the
zionist occupation regime in Palestine. Jerusalem Day is an
"Israeli" national holiday commemorating the extension, in a war of
aggression, of Jewish supremacist colonial rule to East Jerusalem in
1967. The zionist occupation regime perversely calls this the
"reunification" or "liberation" of Jerusalem. http://
www.knesset.gov.il/holidays/eng/jer_intro.htm

Of course part of Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine, had already
been captured by the zionists during the Nakba in 1948. The Nakba
means the catastrophe - the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of
Palestinian Arabs from their homes - a major episode in the zionist
genocidal project against the Palestinians. Many Palestinian Arabs
were expelled from Jerusalem in 1948. Some still hold the keys to
their houses, but the zionist occupation regime prevents these
refugees from returning. Today the zionists are continuing to expel
more Palestinians from Jerusalem http://electronicintifada.net/v2/
article6901.shtml .

Nowadays Jerusalem is divided by an apartheid wall. All of Palestine
is ruled by the racist apartheid "israeli" terrorist colonial
regime. Indigenous Palestinian Arabs - the ones who still remain in
Palestine - are issued region-specific IDs that mark them as being
allowed to reside in the "West Bank", Gaza strip, Jerusalem, or so-
called "Israel". These Palestinian Arabs are not allowed free travel
to the other regions of Palestine, are denied access to decent
housing, farmland, work, and services, and are subject to constant
harassment by "Israeli" Jewish-supremacist terrorists who are armed
by the US government. Millions of other indigenous Palestinian Arabs
are refugees in the diaspora who are barred by the zionist apartheid
colonial regime from returning to their homes in Palestine. At the
same time the zionist regime not only allows but encourages Jews and
persons of Jewish ethnic backgrounds in any part of the world - most
of whom have no historical connection with Palestine - to come settle
in Palestine where they enjoy extravagant lifestyles subsidized by
the U.S. government and denied to indigenous Palestinian Arabs.

Please come protest against this celebration of racism at the Boston
Public Library and/or please contact the Boston Public Library and
the government of Boston to tell them how offensive and objectionable
this is. Although the "Jerusalem Day Celebration" event at the
Boston Public Library is supposedly "free and open to the public",
last year two pro-Palestinian activists were not only denied entrance
to the event but were arrested for entering the library to try to
attend the event.

Ideas for protest slogans:
From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free!
All Palestinian Refugees from Jerusalem and All of Palestine Must Be
Allowed to Return to Their Homes!
Jerusalem is the capital of Arab Palestine!
Divest from "Israel" not from Sudan!
Long Live the Intifada!
Zionism Is Racism! Zionism is Anti-Semitism! Zionism is Terrorism!
Zionists Out of the Middle East! Zionists Out of Boston!
No More Wars for "Israel"!
