preliminary data
    available

Sexual violence is, unfortunately, a common experience
among trans people and SOFFAs (significant others,
friends, family and allies).

To get a sense of what both trans people/SOFFAs and
service providers could do to better address the
aftermath of sexual violence, FORGE has undertaken
a focused sexual violence project that includes, among
other things, a survey of trans/SOFFA survivors and
secondary survivors (loved ones of a sexual assault
victim).

We will be accepting responses to the survey,
available online at
http://www.forge-forward.org/transviolence/survey.php,
until December 15.  In the meantime, we have placed
online a preliminary analysis that we did partway
through data collection. This is not a published
report; we did it
in response to a request for a presentation before the
project was complete. We are making it public now so
that people who have not yet taken the survey --
perhaps because they were concerned about how the
results would be portrayed -- can see our approach
and, we hope, give us additional comments and
statistics before our information-gathering phase is
complete.

The preliminary analysis is available at

We expect to have the final report and analyses
completed and available at this same website early in
2005.
