Sorry Gary, that this email was not answered. The best answer that I can
come up with is that at a time when the Democrats could not be a better
advertisement for our Party, at a time when the economic, ecological,
political, and social circumstances in New England and the world could not
set the stage more dramatically for our Party, and at a time when 10,000
people from across New England are expected to come to Boston -- hundreds if
not thousands of them being Greens or something close -- if we DON'T
organize around this event and try to create a visible contingent and get
our message out, then we are simply not serious about our intention to build
a political alternative. I can't pretend that my contribution to this
"organizing" can be regarded as "serious" but I can promise you that my
intentions are. And I could not be more thankful to the small handful of
people who have taken this seriously, and because of them we will have a
space to gather and reflect after the rally, and we will have the most
visible Green/Rainbow contingent we have ever had at one of these demos
locally. Will it be polished? Far from it. But the more people who step
forward -- even now, 2 days before the rally -- to help move it along, the
better it will be.
To answer your question a little more directly -
1. visibility as the Green-Rainbow Party and New England Green Parties and
2. baby steps toward the "Organize" in "Vote and Organize!"
Peace,
Eli
