Northampton Greens!
Two things happening in our area Saturday!
1) Sponsored by the MGRP Candidate Development Committee
There will be a Western Mass. activist discussion about the 2002
campaigns on Saturday, February 22nd from 10am-noon. It will be at the
Hitchcock Center at 525 South Pleasant St. in Amherst.
The discussion is specifically for members in Berkshire, Franklin,
Hampden, Hampshire and Worcester counties, but all are welcome. Please
visit http://www.hitchcockcenter.org/map.htm for directions.
2) Sponsored by the MGRP
There will be a Western Mass. press conference announcing the name change to Green-Rainbow. Michael Aleo will be present for the event. I hope and believe that Marge Kennard has volunteered to identify a Northampton location around 5 p.m. on Saturday. If you can help organize the press conference, get in touch with Pat Keaney at pkeaney at netway.com or Marge Kennard 413-587-9735 m.l.kennard at worldnet.att.net. Press releases need to be sent out to the local media, local greens need to be contacted and asked to attend, etc. Also, to help announce the event:
If you can table downtown tonight (Thursday), Friday, or Saturday, please feel free to do so. The table and materials remain on my front porch at 50 Hawley Street. The permit is for in front of Banknorth accross the street from Thornes from 3-7 p.m. daily. Please announce the press conference from the table!
Regards,
Jim
PS: Today is my birthday, I am 33. Also, I will be out of town, leaving Friday morning and returning Sunday evening. I hope all goes well. Thanks in advance for your time and energy!
