~ ABOUT CAMPUS GREENS
Campus Greens is a grassroots, non-profit
student-based organization dedicated to building a
broad-based movement for radical democracy on
America's high school and college campuses. We work in
solidarity with the Ten Key Values of the Green Party
and have membership from all sectors of the campus
community and all levels of education. We provide our
members with the support and resources they need to
become effective agents of social change, empowering
them to overcome our world's gravest problems
and build a society based on grassroots democracy,
ecology, social justice, and non-violence. Over the
past 1 1/2 years, Campus Greens has expanded
from 15 to over 250 chapters and emerged as the
fastest growing progressive student organization
nationwide.
~ SPECIAL PROJECT INTERNSHIP, CORPORATE- UNIVERSITY
PARTNERSHIPS INVESTIGATION
For the past 20+ years many corporations have ventured
onto campuses to make use of the publicly subsidized
research opportunities. With a minimum of
capital investment, corporations gain access to
billions of dollars of publicly subsidized research.
With this minimum investment, corporations
are able to direct, in some cases suppress, scientific
research and engineering innovation.
Campus Greens propose to highlight and analyze
corporate influence on our campuses by creating an
online, interactive database detailing corporate
involvement on campuses across the nation. We will
initiate this project by focusing on the six
universities most active in accepting corporate
contracts for the development of weapons. In short
where, how, and why our universities produce weapons
for corporate profit.
