March 2nd...Our Opportunity and Our Responsibility

Please consider...
Primaries present an opportunity to vote principles. In our
Massachusetts March 2nd primary we are voting for delegates. For every
15% of the vote each candidate receives in each Congressional district,
one delegate for that candidate goes to the National Democratic
convention in July. After the first round of voting, delegates are
released to vote for whomever they wish. This is when the trading,
bartering, deals occur. Consequently, the more delegates a candidate
has, the greater the opportunity to influence the party platform.

Dennis Kucinich has an inspired platform that he has stood by
consistently and continually throughout this campaign season. He has
bold ideas with plans to implement them. You can decide about Dennis for
yourself as he's coming to Northampton on February 24th to give a public
address. (Place to be announced) He speaks with integrity from the heart
and does not 'adapt' his message to suit the audience or the issue.
Please check his website at <www.kucinich.us> to see the breathe of his
ideas and his principles that guide them. The clarity, directness and
vision of his platform is so astounding it is hard to believe he is a
politician. Then comes the doubt...can he win? And that's the beauty of
the Primary....we don't have to decide that. All we have to do is vote
our heart, our principles and our values knowing that the more delegates
our candidate has the greater the opportunity his ideas have to position
the party platform. It is this party platform that will beat Bush in
November, not an individual.

Obviously, my choice is Dennis Kucinich. Yours might be another, but be
sure it is a candidate that represents your values and beliefs as
closely as possible. This is your chance to speak out, to register your
anger, to make a change, to reclaim your rights and to demand a
responsive government for and by the people. In order to vote in the
Democratic primary you MUST be a REGISTERED voter in either the
Democratic Party or Unenrolled category. You must do this by February
11th at City Hall. America needs your participation. America needs your
vote.
