The GRP would not disaffiliate in any case, I'm certain. However, the
question of precisely what our relationship to the national party should be
given its present trajectory happens to be one I consider well worth
exploring. Sudan, Iraq, the platform, and convention floor rules are one
thing, but things that - as abominable as they are- could be said to have
had at least some democratic process behind them. This would mark the first
time that the CC has assumed authority to translate national party bylaws
without even a feeble, token attempt at consensus- a situation I find
alarming in a national party where the Steering Committee creates working
committees in contravention of national party bylaws, where CC delegate
dominated working committees have petitioned the BRPP to find means of
expelling dissenting working committee members, where Steering Committee
members have interfered in internal Caucus affairs, and where the fetish for
secrecy threatens accountability.

This is a subject I think worth discussing in depth, perhaps by convention
time.
