John,
As Mel King keeps pointing out, the party has yet to stand for
something locally or nationally in the eyes of most of the public,
other than occasionally some personalities running for higher office.
Ballot questions help make the GRP stand for something as well as
provide a structure for people to volunteer and get involved. And
unlike finding candidates for local offices (which would have been a
good goal over the last six to 12 months), organizing ballot questions
is more feasible and doable.
