No concerns. I ask Eli to post on the Announcements list.
Mike,
You were one of the people who agreed that endorsements should be
delegated to the Platform Committee so that Adcom could focus on the
daunting task of making the party organizationally more functional.
Nat and I, from the beginning of our terms, have indicated both at
AdCom meetings and in our Co-Chair reports to StateCom that our goal
was to have endorsements handled elsewhere other than AdCom since the
party's administrative needs should get more attention.
I didn't see this posted to the Platform Committee list for
endorsement. As Eli notes, it doesn't require a meeting of the
Platform Committee to endorse, any more than it requires a meeting of
AdCom.
Another committee that could eventually make sense is the External
Relations Committee, and if people knew that there was a real need for
its existence --such as endorsements and outreach of this kind -- then
perhaps people would join it.
Meanwhile, I encourage you to share this also with the Rainbow list
and try to organize a constituency to participate.
