Hi!
I'd be happy to be the convener for this group, unless
anyone is opposed or would like to do so?
That being said I would like to start with getting a
sense of who is in this group?...
Could you please email me with your name, where you
live, email/phone, and if you prefer to do work online
or face to face meetings? And if you know of anyone
who may have signed up for this committee but doesn't
have email. We don't have to bog down the list with
this so please email me directly

And in reference to the proposal for statecom to meet
in November did anyone have suggestions/concerns with
what Jim sent? If not, Jim I would like to get
something to statecom as early as tomorrow - in the
form of a proposal with a deadline:
Please let me know if anyone has any
comments/concerns/suggestions, otherwise will post
this to statecom first thing tomorrow - Wednesday 9/24

Proposal to Call for a Special Meeting of the State
Committee
Sponsors: Procedures & Structure Committee
Jim Bosman, Rose Gonzalez
As a result of the concerns heard by many state
committee members about not having completed enough
business at our last state committee meeting we the
procedures committee (with recommendations from the
administrative committee) recommend the following:
A call for a special state committee meeting to be
held Sunday, November 16th at Clark University in
Worcester, in the room where we had the registration
at the state convention. The room is $50 and we will
verify availability through Mark Laserte.
The last meeting was held on a Saturday, and we have
been alternating, thus the Sunday idea. (We realize
our next meeting was scheduled for a Sunday in January
but if we call this special meeting, we can revisit
that and make it a Saturday.)
The agenda would include all proposals as ranked from
the Cape meeting, with an optional
informational/educational session on the GRP budget,
time and interest permitting, at the end. Delegates
will be asked to bring their packet from the Cape
meeting. The Cape proposals section of the website
will be restructured by the tech com to remove
anything that is not on the ranking (currently there
is a duplicate posting of one proposal, and there
are some election items that are no longer relevant,
the agenda ajusting proposal, etc.)

The Co-Chairs ask that all active working committees
provide input on proposals as necessary.
Mary Broadhurst has volunteered to generate any
additional handouts that may be necessary - ie.
friendly amendments, etc.
The need is for 1/3 of seated delegates to support
the call for the special meeting (approx. 20).
FYI from bylaw 8.9: Emergency or special state
committee meetings would not count towards the limit
on the number of state committee meetings.
Please let us know by ?
The procedures committee will tally votes and call
people who are not on email.
