Mary Broadhurst and I can attend weekends 11/8-9, and 11/15-16.

I personally shall attend no statecom during the weekends 11/1-2, 11/23-23,
11/29-30.

Virtual meetings at any time throughout November will work for me.

The latter two weekends are simply too close to the holiday season, and the
former too close to municipal elections. We're becoming a large and broad
enough party so that GRP locals can certainly support the UJP demonstration
regardless of whether statecom meets or not- but if a statecom meeting is
ruled out at that time, the Broadhursts can attend the weekend 11/8-9.

Jim and I both, BTW, have been active on comcom- and it was I, myself, who
suggested that we might consider calling a cyber-meeting to replace the
Director. Yet, I find myself in agreement with Jim that a clear nominations
procedure should be devised in all fairness to future nominees and any who
might have an interest in the Directorship. No one on comcom has voiced any
real enthusiasm for my prior suggestion, and comcom has yet to meet as a
committee since Keith Wright's resignation. My suggestion of calling a state
committee meeting for this purpose should not be regarded as the sentiment
of comcom at this time, as comcom's sentiment regarding this and its
relative urgency or lack thereof has certainly yet to be determined. My
question, of whether such a state committee meeting ought to be considered,
was my own. I speak for no one else.

I'll still go to the statecom meeting if it's the same time as the anti-war
demo. i just thought i should point this out because last time UJP had a
large rally, last March, the GRP co-sponsored and even had a feeder march.
Some of the local groups like the Jamaica Plain Green-Rainbows had a big
involvement. But it's hard to know what to do since the rally is still
tentative and since it's so hard to schedule dates for statecom.

There was already discussion on the communications committee list a couple
weeks ago about calling a statecom meeting just to elect the new
communications director.
