What Melissa says is right on. Still, we really need to think about this stuff in a systematic and sustained way. I almost think there's consensus on that. It's clear to me that we don't all think the same way about what we're trying to build and how. That's OK, or it will have to do anyway.... I doubt that people will want to follow dozens of different strategies, maybe two or three is more like it. Two or three is better than none. They don't have to be mutually exclusive. Also it's not as though nobody has strategic vision now. I do think that strategic visions need to be more explicit, clarity will help us marshal our resources more effectively, and that's where we've got to go now....
