There is a DISGUSTING pro-war ad on Page A7 of the
Boston Globe Today (Thurs July 20) titled "WE STAND
WITH ISRAEL" . It is signed by many prominent
Massachusetts politicians including Deval Patrick,
Chris Gabrielli, Tom Reilly, Kerry Healey, Christy
Mihos, William Galvin and Tim Cahill, i.e., all the
people (except John Bonifaz) who have a chance of
being on the ballot against Grace, Jill and Jamie.
Also signing were Democratic candidates for lieutenant
governor: Deborah Goldberg and Andrea Silbert. Also
signing were Andrea Cabral, Diane Wilkerson, Alice
Wolf, James McGovern and of course Jarrett Barrios.
There is a whole long list. You can look in the Globe
to see which other "progressive" Democrats have outed
themselves as being racists who support war.
The text is disgusting and blatant and has the
situation completely backwards. Here it is:
"As concerned citizens, we stand with the Jewish
community and proudly raise our voices in solidarity
with the people of Israel, a brave democracy that has
yearned so long to live in peace.
We firmly support Israel's right to defend her
population against unprovoked acts of terror,
including the missile attacks launched against
Boston's sister city, Haifa, which have killed and
maimed innocent civillians.
We express our heartfelt concern for the safety of
innocent people, Israeli, Palestinian and Lebanese,
who have been hurt most by the brutality of those
terrorists who have brought a new level of violence to
the area.
We call upon terrorist organizations and the regimes
that support them to put and end to the terror. We
call upon all who care about peace to join us in our
support of Israel as she defends herself against the
enemies of peace."
