Here is why we have to emphasize over and over that a vote for ANY
Green is a vote against war. Why? Because we need to build a third
party from the ground up if we are to have a national party to oppose
war.
We need a slogan for this. I would say "Let's take off the soiled
shirt of the Democratic Party" although the historical roots of that
might give us problems.
But we must stop being a bunch of goody two-shoes in our campaigns and
stop limiting ourselves to local issues. By doing the latter we do
not take advantage of the thing that is on everyone's mind, the number
one issue, the war(s).
Why would we give up that issue? Why would we not make it a central
issue? Where does that show up in a militant, hard-hitting, leading
way in our campaign literature? This cannot be an item way down on a
laundry list - it must be front and center.
It is our issue.
