Personally, I think all groups could stand some criticism. I don't
put any resistance movement on a pedestal.
"Israel's" action is patently wrong, and its excuses of "they attacked
first" are complete crap considering the deaths the "Israeli" military
caused preceding to the taking of their two soldiers.
That said, neither the Palestinians nor the Lebanese or either's
elected representatives decided to attack "Israel". The leaders of
several resistance groups decided that for them and, by in large,
stuck them with most of the cost of "Israel's" not unexpected
reaction. Not terribly democratic and not a reason to not call for
parties to reopen discussions immediately and to cease their violence.
