merelice,
i understand that is how you think parties are suppose to behave but i do
not. i think we need to stand on principles and be able to explain them and
how they relate to what is going on in our world. i feel comfortable with
that. you write:
"Since we are a political party, I believe one of our functions is to earn
and
attract the "votes" (literal and figurative)....."

i did not join the green-rainbow party because it takes a step by step
approach.i joined it because i believe it tells the truth. as they say it
speaks truth to power. we do not have to educate people with lies. this
article assumes that israel has a right to exist. our party does not.

my experience tells me something different about people, at least the people
in my neighborhood. ( a neighborhood i have lived in for 31 years) as an
example, my neighbors love the newspaper mrgra puts out. my across the
street neighbor asks for it. he knows what the politics are and he wants to
read more. (he lives in his family home and his family has lived on this
street since time began...well, not quite :>)

as i said i believe our job is to speak truth to power. to speak up in a
different voice for a different world and not worry about the votes.

Hi,
I think this article educates because it recognizes where the vast
majority of people are and makes an effort to move them in a different
direction. There is a chasm between those of us supporting Palestinian
rights and those taken in by incessant propaganda to the contrary.
People are not going to cross that chasm in one grand leap. Since we
are a political party, I believe one of our functions is to earn and
attract the "votes" (literal and figurative) we need so we can make
the difference we exist to make. That means trying to identify a
step-by-step path to influence change in people's thinking.
