Hi Emily and State Comm.,
Wonderful news that you are bringing Rick and Ellie with you to the meeting.
I think that it is very interesting that there has been very little
discussion about my proposal to postpone/cancel the January 27 State
Comm meeting. While Grace disagrees with my proposal, at least she
responded.
However, I believe that Emily is expressing a partial opinion. If I
understand the "aargh", I beleive that Emily is suggesting that having a
State Comm meeting on Sunday, January 27 would mean that it would not be
a good idea to have the candidates come in the days before our meeting.
Let's look at the 2007 calendar. Given that the primary will take place
on Tuesday, February 5, I beleive that the best possible date for the
candidates to come up would be on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday,
January 27. These dates would give us time to prepare for the events and
the best opportunity to get some media coverage. If the event was the
following weekend, I do not believe that the mainstream media would give
us much coverage a few days before Super Tuesday.
I am very concerned with overloading what our small group can handle.
Once again, if we find that we will have the capacity to organize 2
forums before February 5, I believe that trying to have a productive
State Comm meeting on January 27 would be a major distraction and
drainage of energy.
Maybe other State Comm members will express their opinions?
