[statecom-discuss] Co-sponship of proposals

I would like to strongly co-sponsor numbers 1,4,5,6

I think that the nature of the Senate of Presidential campaigns should determine whether or not we get involved, and we should make those decisions once more information, direction and energy is forthcoming from those who are interested in being in such a campaign.

If there is a candidate who has a game plan, and puts it forward soon, then I would support a discussion, and subsequent decision to endorse or not,.. but to think that we could decide now whether or not to run is too hypothetical; we shouldn't just run because we can; we should run with a plan that incorporates the candidate campaign into some overarching strategy for social change based on building the party (or not building the party actually).

Hi Members of the State Comm

A week today we will be having our next meeting.

I hope that everyone who can will attend.

I have made a number of proposals for the meeting.

I request that you read my proposals and participate in the vetting
process. I will appreciate your feedback and will make a good faith
effort to improve these proposals before our meeting. If you find
yourself to be in substantial agreement with any of these proposals, I
ask for your cosponsorship.

Please visit:
http://www.green-rainbow.org/StateCom/meetings/2007summer/proposals2007summer/index_html

Additionally, if you wish to discuss these proposals, we can have a
discussion on this e-mail list.

The proposals are (from top to bottom):

1. Size of the National Committee delegation

2. 2008 Presidential Election (Note: I have already listened to some
feedback and have made some significant changes.)

3. 2008 US Senate Election

4. Supercommittees

5. Roles & Responsibilities of State Comm Members

6 Improving the Operation of the State Comm

(Please ignore the last item, "Major Item ..." Merelice had sent me a
feedback that my proposals are often too long and recommended that I
make them shorter. I did this by creating new proposals (#4-6).

Note: I have sent proposals #2 & 3 to CDLC for feedback/vetting.

I want to thank Bill C for vetting my proposals today, making some
important improvements and co-sponsoring some of them.
