I would also like to nominate you, John, for the dual position of delegate
and/or as alternate to the NC. I am a registered GRP member in good standing
and a past activist on statecom and as delegate to NC: it is a very
rewarding position if you have the time to keep track of the email (I no
longer do) and it would give you a much broader perspective on the party. So
I urge you to take both positions. I say this as one who is concerned that
at least 3 delegates are women or minorities (so far only one has
volunteered) but who also strongly believes that male representation is
vital as well. Betts Zisk (registered as Betty H. Zisk)

John,
Please accept my apologies for not responding sooner. I am happy that
you have decided to go to the meeting of the NC, and expect to see you
there,
However, rather than wait till you receive the announcements via the
State Committee announce lists, about how to submit your candidacy as a
delegate or alternate to the NC, I wish to nominate you as delegate,
and as or alternate to the NC, and that if elected such position will
not constitute a full term, and that you may stand for initial election
for a full term at the upcoming State Convention. All this provided
that the NC approves the allocation of 8 delegates from Massachusetts.
You will need to declare yourself a candidate, and I believe that it is
best that you do so for both positions, to assure that you will meet
the criteria for statewide distribution, diversity and gender parity
established by the AdCom. Once you have done this, get four
'signatures' (any registered GRP is qualified) for each position and
submit them to the AdCom. Or have your endorsers e-mail directly to the
AdCom. The election will be carried out at a special meetin of
StateCom. sometime around the 3rd of July. We are waiting to find out
the outcome of the vote on Proposal 295 concerning the endorsement of
the report of the reapportionment committee,
So please declare yourself a candidate, and get the boul rolling.
Peace,
Elie Yarden
