Hi Elie,
I am glad that you like the Somerville Social Justice Unity Draft Plan: it is up to us Somerville activists (the 10 who were not at the second meeting and others who remain interested to accept or reject it...)
by the way, we ARE going to have candidates; we are just de-emphasizing their individual and personal character with a novel approach to grassroots organizing that we think eliminates most of the negatives that the group associated with candidate campaigns.... personally I think it is very interesting from an academic point of view....
Also note that this is not a GRP project per se. West Somerville GRP has been an instigator for sure and would be one of the social justice groups in the "social Justice bloc".
I post this stuff to the statecom list just so that people can see it as a possible model in their own community. It is interesting that folks responded to this overture that I and WSGRP initiated: the level of response surprised me actually.

Having the people to do it is the main thing, and they are there.
Membership growth might be useful, But I would only suggest two
possible improvements.
1) My assumption has always been, that the SDP people (25-30, you say)
would eventually come around to recognizing the importance of building
alternatives where we all are. Welcoming them into the party remains a
project.
2) Solve the problems of fund raising without candidates. The
regulatory limitations have to be faced.
Fare well!
Peace,
