[statecom-discuss] Green-Rainbow web site is down (but redirected to GRP community site) while we migrate it, mailing lists should be functional

Hi,

As some of you noticed, mail from the mailing lists stopped. This
problem was a result of the main GRP web site finally growing too big
and filling up our server's hard drive.

Since the web site's database was so large, in the past, we dealt with
the problem by moving other files to the new server to make space.
That process is no longer tenable, so we are in the process of copying
over the GRP web site's database to the new server.

We believe that we should be done by Friday and hope it will be sooner.

We also had to delete the MRG web site to make space after backing it
up. It should be moved over as well.

The mailing lists should be working now that there is space on the server.

We have redirected the main web site to the community site on which we
have been working. We would love to hear from you what information
and services you would like the Green-Rainbow Party web site to
provide. Just create a login and add a comment to the post at:

   http://community.green-rainbow.org/?q=node/20

We hope to make this site into a place where party members can post
their own GRP related blog entries (ala GP of Canada -
http://www.greenparty.ca/en/blog/), but have not figured out the
ground rules. What ground rules we should establish will be decided
on at a membership/comcom/tech meeting in the December/January time
frame. However, suggestions are most welcome and if we get some
really good ideas we might be able to decide sooner. hint hint hint
;-)

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

peace, love and understanding,

Jamie
