Feedback 1
With regard to the following proposal; two comments and some suggestion
for improvement.
1. I regret the necessity for reducing the quorum to 40%, and would
prefer this to be treated as a temporary measure. While not a devotee
of slippery slope or other precedent avoidance arguments
in decision making, it does seem to me that we should avoid projecting
a measure of current weakness
into the future. It just does not feel good. So maybe a sun-(shine)
clause?
2. While I fully support the spirit of the proposal and concern with
effective functioning of the State Committee shown through out the
proposal, the idea of " . . . a Temporary Subcommittee which will
study operations of our meetings. . . . [and] make
recommendations to change the by-laws and standing rules." which I
assume is intended to 'improve' our rules and operations, might be more
effective if an addition were made to the following paragraph.
> This Subomm. will also make recommendations for the kinds of trainings
> that
> would be useful, including trainings in facilitation and consensus.
and also learning (trainings, teach-ins, courses, projects) in GPR
fundamentals, 10KV, and the other features that distinguish us as a
political party in Massachusetts.
