[statecom-discuss] request cosponsorship of my SPWG proposal

Hi Mike and StateCom members,
In general, I think strategic thinking about direction setting is
important and, if folks have done some organized thinking about that, it
would be helpful to actively include such thinking in our conversations
and decision-making. So, in principle, I'd be willing to co-sponsor your
proposal to revive that process and get a report at the next StateCom. At
the same time, I'm new to StateCom and don't know the history of that
process or why it was dropped. Are there others who were more active back
then (when?) who can provide some insights about what happened both during
the discussions and/ or the process of them "grinding to a halt"?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Members of the State Committee:
I submitted a proposal for this Saturday's State Committee meeting (see

I need a cosponsor and request your consideration.
Thanks,

Getting SPWG Moving Again
Saturday March 29, @09:52PM, by Mike Heichman, Suffolk County
Subject : Getting SPWG Moving Again
from the SPWG dept.
Summary :
Quite some time ago the leadership of our party decided that it was
essential to develop a strategy to guide the work
of our party. A committee was formed, many committee meetings were held,
and large meetings were held. For a
number of our active members, this was a major project. Many other members
of our party (including myself) spent
precious time and energy on this project.
For some reasons, this project has grinded to a halt. However, the need
for
this project has not gone away.
Text :
At the next meeting of the State Committee, we will receive a report from
SPWG explaining where they are in their
process and their ideas why their progress has been blocked. We will then
decide what we can do to move this
project forward..
Budget Impact: Unclear
