Given my mantra at AdCom about planning ahead, of course I'd like to
see earlier communication when possible. And Dave's email to CDLC
openly acknowledged that need at well.
In this situation, I would simply note that two people have complained
(one a good deal more than the other). There are not a lot of people
claiming to be left out and acting as if they need to bang down the
doors to participate. (Wish they would do so!)
Efforts to create understanding are commendable -- until they cross
over into enabling a sense of victimization and inappropriate
behavior. In my view, Mike (and Gary) do not benefit from such
enabling. Both Mike and Gary have been known to drop the ball (is
anyone surprised? we've all been there), but I haven't seen email
lists plastered with demands and raw language as a result.
