[statecom-discuss] Would folks not include all of the past responses when replying to a message?

We have a size limit for list posts of 40KB since not everyone gets
their email over a fast internet connection. If the post is over the
limit, then it gets held for approval by a list admin/moderator, which
often times is me (plug if you want to be list admin for a list, email
me.)
When responding to email, please do not include past responses or only
include the relevant sections of a past response. That will keep the
size of the messages down and make the lives of the list admins
happier.
If you want to reference a particular email, please add it as a link
from the archive. The archives are at:
http://www.green-rainbow.org/pipermail/<name of email list>
Also, if you want to post a notice of an event, and there is an
attachment you want to include, then don't send the attachment.
Either cut and paste the text into the message (a little formatting
helps in this regard) or send a link to the document. PDFs are big
compared to plain text.
I appreciate that everyone wants to send things quickly, but making
this little change goes a long way. If things don't improve, I may
start rejecting messages that don't meet the list rules, and I would
hate to have do that.
One more thing, please don't cross post to other lists or people. If
you do that, the messages will likely get held for admin/manager
action, whenever I or the other admins are able to get around it.
Thank you very much.
Jamie (he of the too many hats)
