I sent this note to a few people already, but think its worth posting
to StateCom discussion. I don't feel comfortable seeing partisan
postings sneaking onto the Adcom discussions list. Explanation below.

Maybe this is a vibes watcher comment, but . . .
We need to be VERY CAREFUL to be fair to all candidates on the ballot.
We need to guard against letting partisan (candidate) motives
impact State Committee business and other GRP functions. This is very
corrosive to the effectiveness of our Party. Please resist the
temptation to use insider power against candidates or to prevent
voters from expressing their choice. Yes, you can do it. But it is
NOT what the Green-Rainbow Party is all about. Every reaction will
get an opposite reaction, and before long our energies will be locked
into internal struggles. Let's put on our GRP hat, and think of
ourselves as members of a Party first, and supporters of a particular
candidate second.
I sense that there are some grudge battles still being waged from the
2004 convention. Since I wasn't there, its taken me a while to get
clued in to all the undercurrents. I'd like to ask people to look
into their hearts and ask if they can recognize the legitimacy and the
sincerity of people who supported different strategies than they did
in 2004. Give a clear voice to your point of view. Don't be
dismissive or abusive to those who express a different point of view.
If you win, win fairly, and then you can legitimately ask everyone to
get behind your candidate. Let's get our energies focused *outward*.
