OPEN LETTER TO STATE COMM MEMBERS AND THIS LIST SERVE:

I wrote to Merelice this morning with the message that I no longer want to
be on this list. Apparently it isnt that simple--and I will take whatever
steps needed to prevent my getting this mail which has become increasingly
painful and burdensome to deal with. I am not quite ready to resign from the
GRP (and I am not sure just where to go, if I do so) All I know is that
during my long time tenure as a Green activist (and indeed my past
leadership role in the party as well--I was cochair with Jon Leavitt for
some years and also active as a member of national delegation as well as on
statecomm for several years) i have never encountered such a stubborn and
dogged stance as personified by Mike H. We have heard his views over and
over again. He simply wont let go. Okay. There are a few others I could name
who dominate these e mails as well. And a few complaints that we have had
enough--more than enough. I ask Mike in the name of common decency to cease
and desist. And I guess I am simply going to use the delete key on all
messages from GRP from here on in. Which is a pity; I cant rely on the Globe
any more to report even election results that include GRP. But at least I
wont be burdened any more with endless complaints about the legal status of
Nader. Farewell and sigh. And I wld be grateful if someone were to tell me
just how to remove my name from these lists. Betts Zisk

Subject: Re: [statecom-discuss] [GRP-Announcements] From the co-chairs
regarding the primary candidates

Dear State Comm. Members:

Earlier today our co-chairs made an official statement on behalf of our
party.

I protest against their decision to include the following paragraph:

"Two candidates, Ball and Brown, have recently announced their
withdrawals from the race. The remaining four, including exploratory
candidate Ralph Nader, are seeking to win delegates to the nominating
convention. All six candidates are valid primary candidates whom you may
wish to honor with your vote."

This paragraph represents their opinion. Their opinion does not
represent either a consensus or a decision of the State Committee. In
fact they have deliberately decided to make a statement that is
currently controversial within the State Committee.

They make one statement which says, "The remaining four, including
exploratory candidate Ralph Nader, are seeking to win delegates to the
nominating convention." This is stated as a fact. I have another
question for our co-chairs which I hope they will not ignore-What
factual evidence can you share with us that this statement about Mr.
Nader is true. And by Mr. Nader, are you referring to himself, his
Exploratory Committee or the Draft Nader Comm. which makes it clear that
they don't speak for Mr. Nader.

Thanks,

Mike Heichman
