I just took a scary trip into the world of html and
entered the names of all the current state committee
members onto the website. So it is now possible to see
online who the members are. The URL is
http://www.green-rainbow.org/StateCom/Sessions/2006_2008.html
. Would people please look at this page and let me
know of any mistakes: missing members, people who are
not members but are erroneously listed, any other
mistakes.

The contact info for new members is not up yet, and
the contact info for some old members may need
updating. The way we do this each state committee and
working committee member is supposed to have an
account on the GRP server. Most people who have been
working on committees for a long time do have
accounts. The newer people need to have accounts (the
jargon is to call the accounts "users") added for
them. Tech Committee has promised to teach me how to
create new users. I will do this as soon as Dan M or
someone teaches me, or else someone on Tech Committee
can create the users. Once people are users , they
can log in as users with their passwords and change
their own contact info (email address, phone, postal
address). There are also other cool things one can do
when logged in as a user such as adding events to the
GRP online calendar.

I actually think that posting onto the statecom
meeting proposals boards should require logging in as
a user and having one's identity automatically
attached to the post. But this would require people
having to deal with yet another level of technology,
whereas the current tech level is already a barrier
for some members. I'm not sure how else to deal with
the problem of anonymous posts by outsiders on our
proposals boards. Perhaps this issue should be
discussed as part of the transparency discussion at
the meeting on Sunday.

Thank you Colby for stepping up to remove the
anonymous posts.
