[statecom] The Convention & Sudan

Merelice - the Convention planning group is proposing a fact finding panel 
for the convention on Sudan - very brief, we hope to get some information out on 
the table (pretty sure I have already written this explanation in email 
before).

That is all we are proposing.

In addition, there will be one workshop slot - that time is open to proposed 
workshops - a chapter of the GRP is proposing a workshop on Sudan - that is 
not the Convention committee.   We are not "moving forward" with a "Sudan 
workshop".    you too are welcome to propose workshops - or not.

Please, I am asking you, don't lump all the different processes going on here 
together and make it sound like there is someone else in charge that is 
factionalizing things.

The Convention planners are listening as best we can and are trying to 
even-handedly meet the needs.   Plenary time we are trying to plan, workshop time 
has traditionally been open to proposed workshops -
