Thanks Luc and Wendy for making progress on carrying out this proposal.
As a StateCom member as well as a member of the strategy group, I'd
like to suggest that AdCom follow up one more time with local chapters
and working committees to appoint their representatives. This group
will be most effective with full grassroots participation. I don't
know all the locals, but I see that Nashua River, West Somerville, and
JP-Boston don't have reps. Also missing is the Platform Committee!!!
As noted, one of the first things the group will need to address is
how to get input from a more diverse body. Of the 11 members to date,
only four are women. And while I don't know everyone on the list, it
appears that we are all Caucasian. I agree with our Co-Chairs that we
need to get underway, while still addressing the goal of diversity.
Again, I would hope that AdCom would also continue to participate in
finding ways to implement this goal.
