thanks Wanda. I have chatted with Dave via facebook and email.
We endorsed the Oct 27th event. We really need someone to attend the
organizing meetings to represent our ideas and call for the organizers
to make solid efforts to increase the diversity of the march among
other requirements.
In this, I recommend that we should lead the way by turning out our
members and making our contingent the most diverse there. We have a
database of supporters that Kim and I are working on cleaning up. We
have run the names and addresses through a correction service and
looked up phone numbers. We also have a bunch of email addresses.
However, we are in the process of merging records and removing
duplicates. Any help folks can provide would be most welcome.
We also need members to contact the other New England GPs and see if
they want to join us. All we need are between 1 and 5 people to help
call them, make contact and organize the details. Eli and I thought
that this would be a good opportunity to hold a G/RP social at a
location nearby. It could also be a fund raiser. Help in organizing
this endeavor would be great.
We also need people who can take pictures and video that we can put up
on photo sites like flickr and video sites like youtube.
In facebook, a social networking site in which we have a presence, we
have 16 people who have signed on to join us and 14 people who might
be there. With somewhat less than a month to go that is a good start.
