[statecom] Fwd: Received 2 Credential Applications from Massachusetts - Preliminary Credentials with Contingencies

Dear StateCom colleagues,
Four StateCom members (three of whom are also AdCom members) -- Grace
Ross, Gary Hicks, Martina Robinson, and Jim Hammerman -- have chosen
to submit to the Green Party's delegation credentialing committee
their own version of the proposed Massachusetts delegation to the
national presidential nominating convention.
There is, of course, no official State Committee action to back this
alternative. The submitters claim that since the minutes of the last
StateCom meetings have not yet been approved, the StateCom's actions
and decisions are also not official.
This is for your information and is not intended to start a discussion
at this time. For the moment, our focus needs to be on getting some
remnants of a delegation to the convention. The email thread is below.

Dear Terry,
Thank you for you willingness to be responsive to Grace Ross's request
for help from the national party to resolve differences in the
Green-Rainbow Party, the Mass. affiliate of the Green Party of the
U.S.
However, it appears that your committee is not the appropriate avenue
and should not be burdened with this diversionary request. If there
are people in the Massachusetts party who wish to proceed along those
lines with the national party, it could be left to them to do so in an
appropriate way (though it is the fervent hope of the Green-Rainbow
State Committee that they will instead choose to accept its
appropriate role and authority within the party).
While differences obviously remain, the State Committee (on June 29)
came to consensus on how the party would proceed in this matter. The
governing body is the State Committee; the Administrative Committee
(on July 30) then worked out how its members would fulfill the wishes
of the State Committee to meet the extended deadline granted by your
credentials committee.
You are correct to conclude that the official delegation submission is
the one signed by the four Party officers that you received from Dan
Melnechuk, the Party's Treasurer.
Thank you for your conscientious attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
MK Merelice, female co-chair
Nat fortune, male co-chair
