BALLOT: PROPOSAL #A: APPOINT WANDA BOEKE AS FEMALE FACILITATOR OF THE
SPECIAL STATE COMMITTEE MEETING
DELEGATE NAME: Larry Ely
DELEGATE EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE IF NO EMAIL: tetrahedrons at crocker.com
DELEGATE CHOICE: Yes concerns
I am concerned that the facilitators of this virtual meeting - Jamie
O'Keefe with consultation with Dan Melnechuk - could have up their sleeve
the abrogation of the vote on Proposal #1 by virtue of some bylaw
interpretation they might produce on the basis of changing the personnel
makeup of the facilitation in midstream.
We have witnessed a continual abuse of process and an undermining of
constructive, positive energy and efforts throughout the Party by Jamie,
Mike, Gary, and Grace (with others inducted later, such as Jim Hammerman),
who have lost votes related to our Delegate Selection Plan 75:25 to 80:20
in StateComs and in AdComs ever since our convention last August, yet have
repeatedly brought the issue back up. The capstone to this was Grace and
Dan taking unilateral action (outside of AdCom party-legal process) in
going to a lawyer for an opinion on our DSP to counter the opinion we had
gotten from the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Speaking frankly, I have no
trust in Jamie, as lieutenant for this obstructive minority contingent. So
I have grave concerns about this proposal, even while I admire Wanda Boeke
for her abilities, honesty, fairness, non-partisanship, and knowledge of
Green deliberative processes.
I wish Grace would explain to us her obsession with altering at the 11th
hour in proposal #1 the composition of StateCom in order to implement the
DSP with its diversity allocations already agreed to in StateCom and
Adcom. What is the basis of her apparent distrust?
