[statecom] A note from your new facilitators: on the purpose of this virtual meeting

Dear State Committee,

Many thanks to Jamie O'Keefe for the time and effort put into
facilitating this meeting to this point. Perhaps he will feel a sense
of relief in no longer holding that thankless responsibility.

Following the expressed wishes of yesterday's (6/29) State Committee
meeting, we (Wanda Boeke and Eli Beckerman) are stepping forward
as the new StateCom-appointed co-facilitators of the virtual meeting
to continue this process.

According to a number of decisions made at the 6/29 State Committee
meeting that impact proposals A, 1, 2, and 3, we consider all of them
to be closed. The full text of all of the proposals passed at yesterday's
meeting will be sent out as soon as possible (hopefully tonight).

We would like to issue a clarification on the purpose of this meeting.
The State Committee decided yesterday to accept the delegation
put forward to this date, finding no valid reason to delay notification
to those who have volunteered themselves as MA delegates to the
Green Party nominating convention, neither to deny participation
based upon skin color or income or gender or sexual preference, or
whatever other privileged advantage such participants have been
blessed or cursed with.

Since the delegation is still not complete, we are keeping this meeting
open for the sole purpose of adding delegates and alternates until we
reach a total of 32 delegates and 32 alternates. We encourage the
remaining slots be used to strengthen the diversity of the MA delegation.
We may further ask full delegates to switch to being alternates in instances
where that may strengthen the delegation's diversity. We are also
undertaking
steps to ensure that delegation members may be approved as they step
forward.
We acknowledge that our delegation is not representative of the state of
Massachusetts and commit to making strides towards being more
representative of all the people of this Commonwealth as we move
forward together.
